What is the release date of the PlayStation 5 Slim?
Sony first revealed the PS5 Slim on October 10, 2023. It will be released in November.
PS5 Slim Price
Two variants of the PlayStation 5 Slim will be available, similar to the original. One is equipped with a disc drive, while the other does not. We were expecting a drop in price from the original MSRP; however, that has yet to transpire.
The disc-drive-equipped model is priced at $499.99, whereas the Digital Edition is available for $449.99. That remains unchanged from the current price. Additionally, Sony offers several add-ons.
Although a horizontal stand is included with the PS5, you can purchase one separately to exhibit the console in a vertical orientation. We expensed at $29.99.
Additionally, if you purchase the Digital Edition and later decide to add a disc drive, you may do so. The price will be set at $79.99. In this situation, it is preferable to purchase the one that is already included with the drive.
Pre-Order Information
Although Sony is not accepting pre-orders, the PS5 Slim will be available in November.
Features and Specifications of the PlayStation 5 Slim
Sony claims that the new PS5 is 18 to 24% lighter and over 30% smaller (by volume) than its predecessor, depending on the model. As opposed to the two side panels found on the current PS5, the redesigned ones have four: The lower two possess the identical matte finish as the existing lineup, whereas the upper two are lustrous.
The primary rationale behind that modification is the ability to connect a disc drive subsequently. The removal of the lower panel permits the installation of the peripheral.
Additionally, the new PlayStation 5 includes one terabyte of storage, a marginal increase from the 825 gigabytes of the original.
The fundamental specifications remain essentially unchanged; the processors might be marginally reduced in size to accommodate the more streamlined design.
